I updated this a bit after posting, I thought my comments might be too negative. This resort is absolutely beautiful and the people we met were all fantastic. Valet, Front Desk (2 different people), Breakfast servers, Pool Bartender, Tequila Bartender all projected confidence and satisfaction in their jobs. My issues really are minor and just reflect my expectations from a 5 star hotel. The property grounds are clean and obviously well maintained. The main building and pool area also. We will stay here again.

Some might ask why we didn't just ask for a different room? Well, we didn't expect that we would be able to check-in several hours early and have a room ready but the hotel did (we needed to store something while we were sightseeing). So it just didn't feel right to ask for a different room, especially with the issues being so minor.

Beautiful pool area with several pools and spas, location is awesome with amazing views of the mountains. Staff that we interacted with were very pleasant and helpful.

The room we had wasn't the best and was showing signs of age. When we arrived at our room, there was an opened bar of soap at the bathroom sink and the sink really wasn't very clean. There was also a unfolded towel on the counter.

On the floor next to the shower was a plastic piece similar to what clothing with a sale tag would have on it. One of the pictures shows it on the floor. Housekeeping didn't clean it during our stay, we disposed of it when we checked out.

One of the pictures shows the bathroom mirror losing some of the silver material along the edge of the mirror.

A corner of the duvet cover was dirty making me suspicious of whether it had been cleaned or changed from a prior guest. A picture shows the 2 dirty spots.

Nothing horrible and we didn't say anything, but some additional attention to these kinds of issues is needed. Especially from a 5 star rated resort.

My wife, friends, and I enjoyed a day at Westin La Paloma for a resort/spa access pass. It did not disappoint us! We all enjoyed the waterside, yes even as adults! The pool wasn’t over crowded and the weather was perfect. I would like to highlight Haylie, Lola, and Rachel at the spa. Lola the spa manager booked us morning of, she really talked up the resort property as well as the spa when we called to inquire. Her enthusiasm for the resort sold us! Got there, Haylie and Lola got us all checked in and assisted us with questions/requests during our stay. Rachel set us up with a red light therapy room session, we are hooked and are already looking into red light therapy membership here in Colorado. This was perfect for people who visit Tucson but stay with family!

The resort is lovely, huge and so many great amenities. The little sunrises shop has a varied selection for most needs plus some really good healthy eats sand a yummy party type area. Gia and Remy do a great job at the counter||The room is spacious with comfortable beds. It was lacking in a few areas from housekeeping but those were addressed as soon as we notified management. ||All in all we wills stay here again

We enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful property and well landscaped. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. We had a nice view of the golf course.

Bar staff were friendly and accommodating. Spinach artichoke appetizer was delicious.

The fitness center was my favorite part of the hotel. Plenty of machines and weights. Clean and well-maintained.

Our room did not have hot water in the morning. Staff arrived promptly to allow us access to a different room for hot water.

Pool & hot tub closure at 10PM is strictly enforced. We were kicked out on the dot. Kind of disappointing for an upscale hotel.

The staff was very helpful and polite. Walk out front after check in the golf cart picked up luggage and drove us to our room. Thankfully took my bags as elevator was being worked on. Rooms very comfortable. New bar area was nice to hang out while watching football on large screen, the band was nice as well. The views were so pretty for dinner. We met the new chef and enjoyed the food, we can't wait to come try the new menu in November. Yum!
Morning coffee in new shop hit the spot, we enjoyed coffee on the patio with the sunrise was peaceful

I want to take a moment to highlight the amazing customer service provided by Abraham Lemas, the concierge at this Marriott property. In an age where truly great service seems harder to find, Abraham stands out as a shining example of what hospitality should be.||From the moment we interacted with him, it was clear that he is passionate about his role. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and memorable. Abraham not only provided thoughtful recommendations but made us feel genuinely cared for, creating an experience that went far beyond just “checking in” to a hotel.||It’s this level of service that keeps us loyal to Marriott. Thank you, Abraham, for your dedication and for keeping the essence of hospitality alive. You’ve set the bar incredibly high!

A friend and I stayed at the Westin La Paloma for New Year's Eve and attended their event. It was terrible. When we originally went to the main bar area for dinner, there was an abundance of bartenders (probably too many) and servers. However, at the event that evening, only three or four bartenders were present, and they could not keep up with all the drink orders. It took forever to get ours. The appetizers were pathetic. They served mini hot dogs with beans, breaded shrimp that looked like it came from Costco, and something wrapped in bacon. That was it; nothing else; no other choices; no mini desserts; nothing. And most of the food was gone by the time we got there.||The DJ was awful as he only played rap music, so hardly anyone was dancing. Clearly, he did not know how to read the room. When he finally played a few songs that got people on the dance floor, the dance floor came apart - literally. The frame broke away from the floor. One woman fell because she tripped over the frame, and the dance floor squares separated as people danced on them.||As part of the event fee, everyone was to get a glass of complimentary champagne. That did not happen. No servers came around with trays of champagne to give the guests, and good luck going to the bar to get your glass because the bartenders would not have been able to serve you. ||I have planned and executed many high-end caterings and major events before, successfully, I might add, having worked (and still work) in the hospitality industry, and I never would have allowed these things to happen. The La Paloma is a resort, so one would think their event planner would have planned better, making this an over-the-top experience. This event looked like a rookie planned it. After midnight, we returned to our room as we could not take it anymore. ||Oh, and did I mention that our TV did not work either? When we called the front desk, no one answered. Go figure. ||Then, the next morning, when we went for breakfast, we asked if we could order off the menu rather than eat at the $65 buffet. (I'm sorry, but who will eat $65 of buffet food? Was there caviar, wagyu beef, oysters, or foie gras? I did not see any). The hostess told us that, yes, we could order from the menu. However, when our server came, he informed us the hostess was incorrect, that she did not understand, and we had to get the buffet instead. When we got up to leave, the server asked us to wait while he checked. He returned a few minutes later and said we could order from the menu—finally, a win. ||Notwithstanding this botched event, the other little things, like our TV not working, the fact that you had to push the toilet handle up to flush it, or being told we cannot order from the menu, are glaringly noticeable faux pas. We spent good money at this resort, and I expected much better. The only upsides were the views, the overall condition of the room, and, oh yes, our breakfast from the menu. That did taste good and was presented well. Also, the staff deserves credit. Those that we did interact with were pleasant and attentive. Hence, the two stars. I will not return to La Paloma.

This resort is beautiful. To add to it, the front desk and banquet staffs are amazing. We were there for a conference. Normally banquet food is mediocre at best. Breakfast and lunch served all days were amazing, and the people working the events were friendly, warm and professional. It was an awesome experience all around. The rooms could use a bit of a refresh and the cleaning supplies the housekeeping staff uses have strong not so clean smells to them. Despite that, it was a great place.
