My wife ate a salad and she said it was good I had white sauce chicken breast mac and cheese and chips and the white sauce it's real sweet and doesn't have enough red or black pepper in it. So I gave the white sauce a 2 star and the chicken breast was a 3 star. They have all kinds of baked goods. all kinds of homemade fried pies I tried the fried apple pie it would have been better if it had been warmed up. The restaurants in an old barber shop that looks like an old country store.

Local Joe's is a local treasure! Delicious food and good service. Tables so you can dine in and I think they've even added a small covered deck on the side for outside dining. In addition to barbecue (red and white sauce), they offer potato salad, slaw (vinegar and mayo based), mac and cheese, greens & beans, and several other sides, as well as, nachos, pimento cheese and many dessert items plus chips, jellies, jams, relishes, honey, etc. I'm pretty sure their fried pies are a popular menu item and come in many flavors to choose from. This place is definitely worth stopping in! The smokers are right outside the building and the smell in the morning is amazing and if you stop by in the winter, it feels fantastic to walk by them. You get the warmth and the aroma for a cozy, inviting reason to mosey on in for a good meal. I always get the turkey sandwich and it's so delicious and incredibly tender every time. Love it! My only advice is to carry cash because they have to tack on a tiny bit because of card processing fees if you use a card, afterall they are a small business and small businesses can't afford to eat all those fees card processing companies charge. And don't forget to drop a little something in the tip jar on the counter; these folks do a great job. They also do catering! Their vans are ready to roll to your next important event. And last Fall, they even offered pots of mums; they sat beautifully in the back of and surrounding their bright yellow vintage pickup truck out front. Definitely picture perfect; wish I'd have gotten a photo. Maybe this Fall

Today was my birthday, So I took my wife to local Joe's !! And had the most amazing time there, our 1st time, OH and the food and hospitality was outstanding !!! Thank you local Joe's for giving me a memorable birthday ?

Best bbq sandwich that I've ever had. The turkey was delicious, also great flavor and moist. Awesome service, friendly people, lovely place to pick from many country type foods, canned goods, chips, pork skins, etc. They smoke their own meats, make their own sauces, and cook the homestyle sides. Wonderful place to shop and eat. Our first visit from Jacksonville Alabama and will not be the last, it's worth the drive.

Excellent Food, Great Staff, no complaints! I ordered a turkey plate (12.00) with potato salad and pasta salad. Not sure if they make the potato salad or buy it premade but I absolutely Love it! My husband also ordered the turkey plate (12.00) with baked beans and vinegar slaw, he had no complaints. We got white sauce for the turkey and it was just how I like it, NOT spicy! The turkey is super tender and you get a hamburger bun roll with the plate. It's a nice change from fast food for sure!

We have eaten at the Local Joe's in Albertville. I wanted to find the one near Rainbow City. It's not near anything. Way out of town. But that's fine. It's not big, just a few tables inside and a covered place with tables outside. But the food is the same, except no deep fried foods. And that's okay, too! I can't eat pork, so I had chicken. The poultry I have eaten at both places is cooked perfectly, moist and juicy! The vinegar slaw is one of my favorite things on their menu, but the potato salad is really good, too! We ate lunch here and the place was pretty full. Very rural and rustic. Most of their business is takeout, but there is seating.. Highly recommend.
