The view from the pool was incredible and the garden area and gym were very cute and clean. The property, building layout, parking, and location was nice (area felt safe). Mattresses were comfortable and room was clean. However, the rooms are dated. The bathroom needs major updating. The shower was tiny with not enough space to even set down the soaps. It had a fabric curtain that got all wet and let water out into the bathroom. Our toilet had plumbing issues, mini fridge was too small to fit standard pizza box, and there were many ants around the baseboards, in the bathroom, and on the ac/heat unit. Was a good deal for the price compared to other hotels in the area and did the job for our one night stay, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again until bathroom and ant issues are resolved.

Response to management reply: We mentioned the toilet issue at checkout. We opted to temporarily fix the toilet ourselves as it was late at night as opposed to calling for help. During our stay we did not open our balcony doors or have food laying out. The ants were all over, crawling on my friends legs while she went to the bathroom this morning and were even found in our sheets. For over 300 for one night (non view room), I was surprised at having this experience. I feel like not having ants is a most basic expectation of any hotel stay, and was honestly surprised we were not offered to have any portion of our cost comped after explaining what we had to deal with at checkout.

Such a perfect little place to stay if you're visiting/staying in Sedona! The rooms were clean and a great size (ours had a mini fridge also which was great)! The view from our balcony was so beautiful, and when the sun started setting it was even more stunning! I love that they have a hot tub and pool on site and towels are provided. The location was great and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops! When checking in/out, the front desk staff were super friendly!

I would 100% stay here again and recommend to my family and friends!

First of all the toilet did not flush. Then the shower handle wouldn't work, so I had to shower in the adjacent room (They fixed the shower the following day). The toilet was fixed quickly but wouldn't flush again on the third day. The TV and the remote control had poor reception, which made it a hassle to watch TV. The shower was tiny, with no place to put soap or shampoo. On the positive side: The location was excellent. The beds were very comfortable. And the view from the pool was great. Would I stay there again? No.

I didn't write the review right away because we were traveling. Now we are home, safe and sound. Let me explain our situation.
We were traveling across the country. So we were very particular on where and when to stay, because we only have 1 week to travel across the US, so only 1 night per place. Then we pack up and leave for the next destination.

I called in and made reservation on 02/13/2025 for a one night stay on 02/16/2025 (check out 02/17/2025).

We traveled and drove, and I did call the place around 10pm something to let them know I would be arriving late due to some incident. Nobody pick up. I had a bad feeling already.
When we finally got to the place and realized that their front desk closed due to staff shortage, and there was only Emergency number. We called the number, it was around 12am something midnight. It was not easy getting in touch with someone, but we finally got in touch with a guy. At first he could not find us in the system, but after a while, he said "oh, you are suppose to be in room 108, there should be email sending instructions and lock box" (but we received none) then he said he would contact his supervisor, and then be out there soon because he only live 2 mins away from the hotel. This was already close to 1:00am.

We waited for more than 30 minutes and nobody came. We called back that emergency number, and it hang up on us every time. We were left stranded.

We could not wait anymore, so we had to drive out another 30mins to find another hotel in the middle of the night.

The next morning, I got a call back from the front desk. At first she sounds nice, and then she pointed out that on the confirmation email, it said the room suppose to be for 02/17/2025. It became a he said she said situation and pointing finger. I took that it's my fault for not checking the confirmation email, but her attitude was very much passive aggressive and she talked to me like I was 5 years old.
When I said that we were left stranded, she flat out refused and continue pointing back to "oh you should have checked your confirmation email" and she kept on talking over me without letting me say anything more.

Lady, if you promised to call back / reach out, and you ended up leaving your customer there without any contact. That is the definition of LEFT STRANDED.

At least have a decency of calling back as you promised at that time, so they know and move on with their back up plan.

Everywhere else I visit, we all have late checking, except for this place.

Sedona was a very nice place. Except for Cedars Resort.

This is a great quaint little motel. There are a lot of options to stay in Sedona, and nothing is cheap. This was a great value for what you get. We somehow ended up with a mountain view room even though that's not what we booked. We were in room 122, second floor in the middle. The view was AMAZING!!! The "Snoopy" formation was right there, amongst many other iconic formations. The creek is below amd the sound of the water rushing through the creek and the little creek inhabitants were such a peaceful was to fall asleep. Even though it was cold while we were there, we slept with the slider door open and it didn't get too cold. The staff were helpful and kind. Alex checked us in and made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool area. The hotel is old, but everything was updated while still leaving some of the charm of an old property. The room was very clean, had coffee and a refrigerator. The only negatives were the noise. I could hear the person next door to us snoring. When the room over ran their restroom fan or the shower, it was very loud. Also couldn't get the heater to set automatically so we just had to turn it on or off manually when we needed to warm up. Those were no big deals. The locations is hard to beat, within walking distance to all the shops and resturaunts. Close drives to hiking trails. And again, the view, the view, the view!!! We will be back.

I had an unfortunate experience with the staff. Due to stressful unexpected circumstances out of my control, I had to change my travel plans. My intention was to postpone my trip by two weeks, keeping accommodations the same. Cedars Resort told me over the phone that they would need to charge for one night, the amount of 214.76. I asked about any flexibility with their rule, seeing as I was trying to rebook with them and not outright cancel. They were inflexible and had no empathy for my situation. I understand rules being in place, but I also believe in working with people and when it’s appropriate to make an exception. They were unable/unwilling, which did not sit well with me as far as customer service goes. Once canceling through the booking service, the new fee they charged was 299.76, just shy of $85 more than they originally stated! They just took whatever amount of money they wanted from me. Who’s to say they won’t scam all their customers?

There’s nothing wrong with utilizing a third-party service for booking. Discounts, especially if booking hotel and airfare are sometimes significant. The cancellation also went through them, and they attempted to reason with Cedars Resort twice.

The issues here are lack of empathy and flexibility, and discrepancy between the cost of one night I was originally told, then what I was charged.

Location and views are nice. However, our room was infested with ants and the toilet had plumbing issues. We only stayed one night and told them at checkout about the issues. We were not offered any kind of compensation or an apology and instead told they'll check it out. Very unhappy that we paid for this only to literally wake up with ants crawling on us and all over the room and bathroom.

Really? For $170? This place was just perfect.
Clean , comfortable, and the scenery couldn’t be beat (tied maybe, but not beat!!).
Staff always had a smile. Close to everything too.
The view outside our room was such HUGE PLUS!
Highly recommend The Cedars
Thx guys.
