I love staying here! The village is less busy than Sedona, and this hotel is next door to a great brunch cafe and a great coffee shop. There's a great grocery store just behind it too (lots of gluten free groceries for those who need it). I am a big fan of the rooms with both a fireplace and a whirlpool tub - you can't get that anywhere else for the price. The room is always clean, plenty of hot water, comfy bed. For those who like to know what to pack, they have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and bar soap, a little coffee maker (drip), and microwave and mini fridge.

Desert Quail Hotel - A Relaxing Stay with Room for Improvement

We had an overall enjoyable stay at the Desert Quail Hotel. The in-room jacuzzi was a highlight, making for a relaxing experience after a day of exploring. The location is fantastic—close to a grocery store, restaurants, and even an outdoor market on weekends, which was a pleasant surprise.

The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the strong flushing toilet (a detail not to be overlooked!). However, the room could use some updates—particularly the carpet and living room furniture, which felt a bit dated. Additionally, we found some hair in the bathroom, which was disappointing and could be improved with better cleaning.

Despite these minor issues, we had a good experience overall. With a few upgrades, this hotel could be even better!

We had late check in (10 pm)due to water issue at our home (we are local). They could not have been more rude or unhelpful. Hotel not full and they were lingering outside both of our rooms ready to clean before check out time. We chose because price was reasonable but you get what you pay for. Rooms were clean, sparse, bland, but adequate. Would not recommend

Changing my review from 1 to 5. The front desk woman came to our room and gave us the originally quoted price after speaking to the manager. Thank you! I know it is not a lot, but the kindness makes a big difference.

Original review… I was kinda mad when I wrote it 😂: I wish I could give these horrible greedy people negative stars. I called and they told me $346 with taxes included. I got here 5 minutes later and they changed the rate to $375. The woman at the front desk told me there was nothing she could do. Horrible, greedy behavior. Last “inexpensive” hotel in town, so what else can I do?

Wonderful inn, within walking distance to great restaurants and coffee. We stayed 4 nights, the room was very comfortable and clean. The owner works on site and was more than helpful to answer questions and help with dining, golf, and activity recommendations.

The most important part to me is a clean room with comfortable bedding (this was 10/10), all the little details we also spot on (water pressure, updated decor and paint in the room) these things make a difference and just make you feel comfortable when you enter a room.

Proximity is also a big deal for me, and there is not a hotel with a better location in town. You are walking distance to a number of fantastic restaurants (at least 5), great coffee, and even a golf course (if you don’t mind hauling your bag there is actually 2 golf courses you could walk to.)

Personal touch and car made this one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot. Thanks again Desert Quail Inn!!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three days for our 10 year anniversary earlier this month. We took a brief road trip to the neighboring cities of Jerome, Sedona, and Cottonwood as well.

My boyfriend paid for a luxury room with a jacuzzi and fireplace, which of course incurred additional charges. When we arrived for our 9 PM check-in, we discovered the fireplace didn't work so we called down to the front desk. They told us the fireplaces don't turn on until later in the year, which seemed odd as it was already cold outside at night. The manager swung by the next morning with housekeeping to turn it on for us, which was nice.

The room itself was very dated. There were several layers of dust on the furniture, dead bugs by the air conditioning unit, and a few spots on the floor that appeared to sink in. We were a little concerned about this since our room was upstairs, but we ended up learning to avoid them as we walked around.

The cafe next door was wonderful - we stopped there for breakfast the next morning after our arrival. We had a nice time perusing the area and spent minimal time in the hotel room so overall, it was a decent stay.

I was happily surprised with this inn. Check in was extremely easy, and the staff super helpful. They even allowed us early access to our room when check in is normally at 4pm. They let us in ours at 2:30pm. The Inn was conveniently placed with a wonderful café and grocery store behind it and a coffee house next door. The rugs looked a little worn, but the rest of the room looked newly renovated and I have to compliment housekeeping that the bathroom was spotless. I worried about hearing other guests throughout the night but was again pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. The only thing that was worried me was the parking as it was a tight parking lot. I'd definitely come back here.

Positive: Clean! No carpeting so it felt so much cleaner than a fancier hotel. And the bed was very comfortable. Negative: While the outward appearance is motel, the rooms were a pleasant surprise.
