It took a few days of deliberation to finally decide to leave a review. As a small biz owner myself I know how important these reviews are to my business. But as a traveler with a budget looking for a good experience I think others should be educated.
The location and property have so much promise it's a shame the management or owner care so little for their guest and are so... Well cheap is the only word that comes to mind.
The soap is so small it's half the size of my thumb. After mountain biking and hiking we need to shower. The shower is also poor. The towels are worse that a dive hotel. There are no paper towels.
The bed is rock hard spring in back with 2" thin pillows.
There is a coffee maker and filters but no coffee. No bottle of water provided.
Hanna was nice enough but she just started and probably doesn't know how bad the property she works for is yet.
Last thing we booked because we wan
ted a cabin feel with fireplace. The fireplace didn't work properly and filled the roo. With smoke. No offer of consideration from management which ultimately led to this review.
This property has promise but should be low 100s budget motel price point with this room experience.

AZ Mountain Inn & cabins is GREAT! We have stayed here many times. The cabins are wonderful, great rustic charm. If you're looking for a fancy place with gold plated fixtures, go elsewhere. There are many different sizes of cabins, ready to accommodate any size group you have, any time of year. Staff is always friendly. The location is perfect, surrounded by pine forest, you would never know you ar 5 minutes away from the center of Flagstaff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I’m gonna start this review off if I could go below one star I would our stay was absolutely horrific to start this off once we checked in we bought Some wood for the fireplace we decided to light The wood on fire with the provided kenneling to our surprised the room began to fill up with smoke I began to cough on smoke after we got that dealt with in the smoke aired out of the cabin We decided to take a shower to our surprise When we went to grab the soap It almost disintegrated when I tried to grab it The toilet paper was also horrible It was so unimaginably thin and Felt like copy paper there was also no paper towels at all The pillows were horrible they were flat as a board and had no fluff after all that We decided to go check in the lobby if they had any coffee The lady gave us some coffee we decided to brew it And it was Absolutely horrible it tasted like dust It was so bad I had to pour it out The only positive thing I could say about this lodge Is the fact that the property was Pretty

Had the most amazing weekend. Thank you staff for accommodating our special request and making our stay unforgettable. Celebrated husband's birthday and Amanda and the owner went above and beyond our request. The cabin itself is very cute & charming & the property serene. Traveled in March but still had a good amount of snow which looked like a postcard outside our window each morning. Staff were very friendly and professional.

Stay away! Dishonest owner!

If you read this entire post, thank you. It is long but I thought carefully before I posted because after reading previous Yelp and Google reviews. I see the owner thoughtfully replies and defends her property, while trying to discount the feelings of the reviewer whenever something negative is posted.

On 8/1/24 I booked a stay at Arizona Mountain Cabins and Inn (which I will shorten to AZMIC going forward) through my credit card’s points website which uses Expedia. The price point that came up for Cabin 9 from 8/16-8/18 was $72 per night. I booked it easily enough. That evening I received an email from the owner, Mary. I posted my email on Yelp, but basically she said there was a pricing error beyond her control, and wanted to know if I still want the reservation at $172 per night.

It was late and I did not respond. The next day I received three missed phone calls and one voicemail and called after work. I called Expedia twice first, told them the situation and asked if AZMIC was required to honor the price. Both people I spoke with said the stay was already paid for, so there are no issues with the price. I then called AZMIC and talked briefly with someone before Mary came on the phone. Our conversation was 7 minutes long. I was very calm when speaking with her. Told her that this was not the first time I had an issue booking with them.

The last time was before Covid and I booked a one night stay over a weekend. I remember getting a call soon after and whoever I spoke with at the time said it was a two-night minimum and asked if I still want the reservation. I was not able to stay more than one night at the time, so I cancelled it. When I told this to Mary, she did not seem phased by my previous experience, nor my current experience and only about her bottom line.

Mary did say that $72 would not even pay for the cleaning. She did offer me a stay in the lodge and a reduced rate, which I also declined because I was bringing my dogs and they are not allowed in the lodge. In the end, I told her I need to think about it and I will be in contact.

In 8/3/24, I replied to Mary’s email saying if it was an error on their part, they should make it right. On 8/5/24, I replied simply saying, ‘I am sure you had a busy weekend. Please reply.’ I waited longer.

Later on 8/5/24, I receive an email from Expedia say that I have been banned. I called Expedia and they contacted AZMIC because they still saw the reservation in the system still. The agent told me that I cannot stay at their property because I was banned back in 2018. If I was banned, why would she offer me another room and ask me if I still wanted the reservation?

Mary was not able to cancel my reservation, so she tried to manipulate me into doing myself. When I wouldn’t budge, she made up that I was banned.

Hey, I know Mary has a business to run and a bottom line, but as the owner, she had the power to make it right for the guest.

I hope you think again before booking this property. And Mary, I eagerly await your response and hope you are honest in what you say. Without guests, you are nothing but empty cabins.

If you are looking for a quiet, rustic step back in time in the forest of Flagstaff AZ then this is it. Very quiet grounds yet close to Historic Flagstaff and Route 66. Husband was able to take off mountain biking right from the cabin while I enjoyed reading a book and enjoying the mountian view from our deck of Cabin 6. The cabin is like stepping back into the 70's. Had a wood burning fireplace, gas stove, refrigerator, dishes available which we did not use. Wish the sitting was a little more comfortable, but we weren't inside except at night. Grounds were beautiful, although the tree with #6 or the one across the roadway needs to be removed for getting into the drive easier due to the angle. Thankfully we didn't have neighbors so could use their drive for manuevering with our truck. If you like rustic, dark skies and solitude you will enjoy staying here.
