Okay. I have mixed feelings about this place. So far, we have had good experiences between 9am-12, and mediocre experiences first thing in the morning.

Our first visit (6am, when they open) was extremely disappointing, if you like old fashioned donuts do not get them here. They felt and tasted like oil.

Our second visit (6am) was a lot better, we got their lemon filled, raspberry filled, and Boston creme. Personally, I really don't like the chocolate icing. But, my husband and I really love the other two. These filled donuts are FILLED, they don't skip out on the filling.

Our third visit (6:30ish am) about the same. Note: usually, if I get to a donut shop the minute it opens... I'm expecting fresh donuts. However, based off of our most recent visit, we think we've been getting the leftover donuts. They're never hot/warm, and not the most fluffy in texture first thing in the morning.

Our 4th visit (around 9 am) we stopped by to pick up a dozen for a work meeting, and these were genuinely amazing and FRESH. These donuts were still warm, soft, and fluffy. No oily after taste. The best maple donut I've ever had. (To note: they did not have the filled donuts at this time).

Our 5th time (9ish), they were unexplainably closed. We have yet to go back, but we'd like to try one more time.

TL;DR: Inconsistent results, certain donuts are not available sometimes, go around 9am for fresh donuts.

Have you ever had perfect donuts? This ain't no Safeway bakery. These people are the donut whisperers. Go there now- run! They're phenomenal and it's an experience for sure.

Bakers Dozen is a wonderful place where they go out of their way to provide great service and perfect donuts. The old fashioned are my favorite and they have that perfect mix of crunchy outsides. Their croissants are also first rate.
Highly recommended if you need food for a breakfast meeting.

I was worried by some other reviews about the donuts being expensive, but $18.99 per bakers dozen of FRESH donuts is 100% worth it and beyond reasonable. I’m not sure what Dunkin charges, but I wouldn’t even want to pay half of that for their donuts that arrive frozen. My favorite here was the maple glazed with pecans!

Stopped here for first time this morning with my wife, will definitely be coming back. Everything was great, if I have to recommend one thing, the apple fritter was the best I have ever had. Eat it right away while it is still warm!

Decided to try this place because it wasn't a Dunkin and I'm glad we did! The donuts are soft and, even in the middle of the day, were really fresh. I'm new to Sierra Vista and this isn't as big a place as where I moved from but I'm glad this tiny city has places like this. Staff was super nice and helpful and I recommend this to anyone looking for an amazing donut!

I'm in town for a relocation recon trip, and had seen this donut shop several times in passing. Figured I'd try something home-grown here as I head home. Well, hate to say, but the cinnamon roll I got was not good. At all! I couldn't finish it (which is really bad, cuz I'm a cheapie, and when I pay almost $4 for a small donut, I'm gonna get my money's worth no matter what!) This item left a nasty greasy, terrible taste, and I feel badly for locals having to dish out big $$ for less than parr treats. I like to consider myself somewhat of an expert, as I'm a retired cop with some experience. 😅
I'm from a small mtn town in commie-fornia (hence the relocation need), and Carlos' Donuts in Tehachapi are some of the finest west of the Mississippi. And a serious bargain at $1.50 each, and $3 for a cinnamon roll or fritter large enough to feed a small-medium sized family. Sorry, I don't mean to negatively compare, but I'm spoiled. I hope there are other places around town here so y'all can enjoy something better. And so I can on my next trip out.
BTW, the staff working there were great, no issues there. Till we "eat" again...
