This is regarding the MLY Ranch log cabin only. (I know nothing about the adjoining X Diamond Ranch).|We had the Phobe cabin again for two people & a large dog. We like it best because it has a small fenced yard for our dog. Anyway, it was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped as usual. Except for some trucks going by occasionally, it's very quiet, especially at night. The field below the cabin often provides views of birds and wildlife. Weather was still hot during the day (80s), but by use of open windows, & shades, etc. we kept the cabin comfortable. (I don't know how it would be in the summer with higher temps & more prolonged heat, as there's no AC.) The little fireplace warmed up the kitchen quickly in the cool mornings.|So, all in all, we like this place and will undoubtedly return.

The X Diamond Ranch is a rare opportunity to enjoy complete peace, beauty and the gracious owner, Wink Crigler. People who have been blessed with
experiencing the ranch and meeting Wink never forget. I can't remember how many people I have met that say,"I stayed there and have cherished the memory."

We stayed in the Phobe Cabin on the MLY Ranch for the second time. We obviously like the cabin and the setting and intend to return. This cabin is well-equipped for comfortable use. It was chilly in the morning, and the gas fireplace/stove warmed things up nicely. Bed, pillows, etc. were comfortable. The small fenced yard was great for our dog to sniff and nap in, and the nearby field provides some running room. The cabin is slightly elevated above a field where there were birds--including vultures, and evening deer and elk to watch from the deck. At the bottom of the field is a small branch of the Little Colorado River--which actually had flowing water in it! It's not "isolated", as there's regular traffic to the nearby ranch, but it feels very private and definitely quiet at night. It's located well for explorations in the area. It's kind of "rustic", but not lacking anything. We'll be back.

X Diamond Ranch is spectacular. The views are breathtaking. The small market is amazing with great prices. We were able to sleep with our windows open listening to the river right outside. We have already booked a future stay.

The Diamond X Ranch is Breathtaking. The Butler cabin was beautiful inside and out. The cabin had everything we needed for preparing our own food. Very comfortable and for the romantic at heart it’s perfect from the jacuzzi to the fireplace in the living room. Perfect for family or couples wanting to get away.

Stayed here during the largest fire in state history at the time, the rodeo-chedaski fire, in 2002. Although it was some 21 years ago, I still remember it like it was last week. The hospitality shown was amazing, the cabins were spacious and top notch, clean, and even somewhat luxurious! The scenery was amazing, despite the wicked smoke and fire raging just some dozens of miles away (we evacuated the show low/pinetop/lakeside area to this area, fearing the entire town was going to burn down). It felt more like a vacation than an emergency situation as we were "stranded" for over a week, over the mountain range awaiting the fate of our town and our homes! Thankfully the fire amazingly stopped short, almost like a wall of supernatural force held it back from rushing through the show low and surrounding area...though many lost homes to the west of there, just on the outskirts of town where the flames suddenly seemed to halt (felt like the pillar of cloud or something from the Bible, or Gandalf saying "thou (you) shall not pass!". We even got to see and shake President GW Bush's hand when he made a visit to the small town of Eager/springerville nearby! The 10 days we spent here was like home away from home and we were almost sad to leave. There was all kinds of fun things to do, though it all seems a blur now. It was a fairly stressful time, but I remember the stay fondly despite the circumstances.

I know my review isn't 100% about the place, but the background info to me only adds to the warmth I felt from this place. I happened to be mapping out something near Arizona and decided to "look up" my old stomping grounds from the early 2000s and I was curious if I could find the place we stayed. Sure enough! This was it. And while I'm sure the management gave us a discount due to the circumstances, the cost was well worth it..both for that instance especially, but also for any type of family vacation or get away! The ski slopes from the Indian reservation (and Honda casino) also isn't too far away (maybe an hour?) And was a true hidden gem that rivaled most other ski slopes in CO and elsewhere!

Hope this review helps at least 1 person who takes the time to see what others say. More negative reviews seem to be posted than positives and ours was most definitely positive! Despite 21 years of time that's passed, looking at the pictures here of the cabins and ranch takes right back to that time! Doesn't look like too much has changed (and when it was a fond memory, that's truly amazing!). If you're on the fence about a stay here, just go for it...I don't think you'd regret it!

Ps. This area of Arizona in the White Mountains I've heard others say is "God's country" and while I can't speak for God on this, I do share a lot of that sentiment. The white mountains of AZ are an amazing place that I'll always hold dear, having spent 3 years there back in the day. Whether you're a native of the area or from another state coming to this area, this place is well worth it imho πŸ™‚

We've been coming to Greer for years but just now discovered this gem! The ranch offers spacious cabins spread out across the site to give you a secluded feeling. We stayed in Fisherman's and really enjoyed the huge deck overlooking the field where cows grazed throughout the day. Even woke up one morning with them just a few yards away from our porch. The kitchen was stocked with all the tools needed to cook while visiting. Also plenty of games to play, as well as reliable wifi. Definitely a great experience and easily our top destination for future visits.

This venue was everything we hoped for. The setting was absolutely gorgeous on a cattle ranch with the reception taking place within a small frontier homestead with multiple unique old west buildings and barns. The ceremony had the Little Colorado River running through it which allowed fantastic wedding photos. The ranch accommodated our guest very well with beautiful cabin homes across the property making it a great getaway for our guest to feel like they are on a vacation while attending our wedding. The staff was friendly, entertaining and an all around great addition to our ceremony and reception. The ranch manager/owner Wink made sure everything was squared away prior to our guest arrival. The cabins were pristine and the grounds were freshly groomed. She put a lot of attention to detail which made it a picturesque environment. It was absolutely beautiful and we had an amazing time. You will not be disappointed having your wedding here or just staying for a nice getaway.

Thank you very much to the staff and Wink for making this an unforgettable experience for us and our families.
