We made the reservation and received no check in instructions. On check in day we called the number on the reservation and she was surprised and had no idea we had a reservation, and wasn't sure the cabin was cleaned, which it turned out to be. Once arriving at the cabin, we found the location to be less than desirable compared to many others in the area. There was a security door with no lock at all, and a flimsy lock on the main entry door with no dead bolt. The cabin had worn carpet that appeared to be from the 70s, and the rest of the cabin had a worn feel. The refrigerator made a clattering sound. Ok, it's a cabin, so some people may be fine with that. Calls to management were not answered, there was no voice mail, and I never got any reply at all. We didn't feel safe at the cabin with the lack of locks and it wasn't a pleasant place to be. The furniture also seemed old and grungy. We ended up only staying the first night and wrote the second off as a loss. I don't recommend Aspen cabins. There are many better locations in this area.

Booked cabin 5 June 17th for 1 week in mid-July. The 50% deposit was taken from my account right away (as expected). About 5 days before our arrival I called as we'd received no instructions for cabin access. Carrie told me she'd sent out emails and I told her I'd never gotten one. She said she'd send one later that day. Didn't get that either. When we were 2 hours away from Greer I called again. She didn't remember our earlier conversation and asked if I'd not received the email with instructions. When I said no, she gave me the code for the key box. We got there and proceeded inside with various things for sanitizing as we had no idea what had or hadn't been done. We started to wipe down all surfaces with bleach water and wipes and noted while we sanitized that the place was NOT clean. I don't think the fireplace mantel had been dusted in months! Then we discovered that the beds in both rooms had been slept in and the spreads just pulled over the dirty sheets. I called and was able to reach Carrie again. She said they'd had a problem with the cleaner that day and would be right over. She and a younger woman (perhaps her daughter) came over and changed the beds and did a quick vacuum (and wiped the mantel). I pointed out that the light bulb in the fan hood was completely broken with only the insides still in place and I didn't want to risk getting a shock trying to remove it. She said she'd send a handyman over either that day or the next. Before they left Carrie apologized for the condition and told me that she was going to credit us for 1/2 a day. Of course, no one ever came to fix the bulb. I tried calling a couple times during the week but never got an answer and the mailbox was full so couldn't leave messages. There was one garbage bag for a week! Luckily, we had brought some of our own. The bed was quite uncomfortable. We checked the twin beds but they were even squishier. It got pretty chilly one night and only one of the two portable heaters worked. The freezer in the refrigerator made a buzzing/vibrating noise most of the time. The white blinds were FILTHY. The bathroom had been remodeled and was very nice, but it was so dirty we were afraid to use the shower until we'd sprayed the entire thing with Lysol. The ONLY good thing about this cabin was the location. We think it was the most private of the cabins there and the large deck overlooking the pine and aspen trees was heavenly. However, the deck was not enough for us to ever return here again. I called a couple times after we got home to inquire about the credit she'd promised. Again, never any answer and the mailbox was always full. How can you manage a business if people can't leave messages? Never received the credit promised. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Just had a wonderful stay in cabin #7. The cabin is spacious and the amenities are what I expected. The heater worked perfectly in the bathroom to heat it up just a little for my kids baths. The beds were comfortable. We are a family of 6, grandparents, kids and parents. Having a space for the kids to play outside was perfect and being able to watch the animals come in to eat peanuts was a wonderful experience for my kids. We will be back!

We have been staying in The Aspens Cabins when ever we go to Greer since the early 2000's. the latest owner, Irene and her staff were great this last trip there 08/27-08/29/2017 in our favorite cabin #3. These folks bent over backwards and went the extra mile making sure our stay was a great one. The cabins are always being upgraded and this visit new floors, carpet, counter tops and new energy efficient windows through out and the cabin was clean and sparkling when we arrived. yes, we do take our own groceries with us as Greer is a fairly remote little place with usually one night dinner out at the Molly Butler Lodge. The cabins come stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, fridge, microwave, gas grill and everything you need except your food and drink. great satellite TV too. the only downside is no phone service there if you are a verizon customer but there is a landline for guests to use located on the property. if you're looking for peace, quiet and privacy you couldn't ask for better. The fishing is good here also as the cabins are in walking distance to the Little Colorado River where there is some good trout fishing to be had and a slew of White Mountain lakes in short driving distance that are good trout lakes. As always we had a great time and will return again ! Thanks Irene and crew !

This cabin, #1, had a great location to access the White Mountain lakes for fishing. You have a choice of 2 restaurants, neither of which we tried. As for the cabin, it was OK. The beds were not real comfortable, i slept good, my wife did not. The kitchen had utensils, flatware, dishes and salt/pepper. Bring whatever else you need. Now for me, I am 5'11 220 lbs, What I found was the toilet was very uncomfortable, like using a coffee cup. The shower was narrow, I had to turn sideways to take a shower. The water control valve did not do a good job blending the water. It was either skin peeling hot or blue b*lls cold. The value dollar wise does not make it viable for a return trip.

We stayed last winter in December (late review). We were in the small duplex cabin with 2 bedrooms and my parents stayed in the attached cabin next to us. The cabins were small but had everything we needed. I agree with other reviews about this duplex set up that you can hear what's going on in the attached cabin. It was fine for us since it was only my parents but it could be annoying if you had bad luck with some noisy neighbors. It was a great value for Greer and we took our two dogs with us. We would stay here again but might choose a free standing cabin if my parents didn't join us.

First off do not let this review say anything about beautiful Greer we love coming here and we even got married here!

We booked a room with these guys for 4 nights/5 days. We saw pictures and reviews of beautiful cabins and rooms. Well that’s definitely not what we got. We a nasty dirty room full of spiders and other creepy crawlers. The linens smelt like mold and mildew! It was absolutely horrible! So the next morning we called the office and a nice woman answered the phone and said she apologized and that someone would be in to clean it and bring new linens.... No one ever came. So we tried calling that evening and got no answer. The next morning we called and I believe the same lady said again that she’d come clean it. Nothing.

I will not recommend to anyone to stay here! We were very misled and for the price we paid it was definitely supposed to be nicer.

DON’T DO IT!!!

Great location. This was our first time renting from "Aspen Cabins", and it was well worth it. We were situated in cabin #5, which is a shaded home that allows you to feel secluded (increased privacy).||The home/cabin included comfortable sleeping arrangements and furniture, fridge, stove, pots, pans, knife's, forks, all required utensils, bathroom towels, hand soap, and even a microwave and coffee maker (old school - not a keurig :-)) Oh wait. The TV even worked (most of the time). It was "connected" to DirecTv. ||As other renters have stated, and if wanting to cook for yourselves, you will need to travel either into Eager/Springerville (15 min drive) or Pinetop (30-45 min drive) to attain groceries.||However there ARE two restaurant locations in town. One that serves breakfast and lunch and the other, lunch and dinner.||Challenges and outcomes - Toilet would not correctly flush the first day. I had to utilize my expert plumber skills (bit of a joke there) to work the flapper and other moving parts. The toilet sink was also clogged. And even after utilizing the available plunger, it seemed like it made it worse.||Here's the GOOD of this story - I left a message (both voice and text), and promptly the next day the challenges were resolved. Now that's what I call customer service. Thank you very much Kaleigh and Daisy.||Additional notes: Limited phone reception or utilization for Verizon customers. Unable to call or receive messages/phone calls.
